The frame does not have to be extended. The cummins will fit between the firewall and the radiator with a couple inches to spare.

Hey I'm new to the forum and saw this picture under a Google search. I have a 69 extended cab highboy and can't seem to find any information on them. I know ford didn't make these as a factory truck in 69, does anybody know how many of these were made?

How difficult is it to rig up running two transfer cases and how do you go about doing it.

You would be better off starting a new thread. This thread is deader than a door nail.

I see this is a little old but, Welcome.

First, don't quote me on any of this. That being said...
I'm guessing you mean Crew Cab when you say extended cab. Don't think they made just extended. My wife and I are working on her 67 F250 Crew Cab. Per our Marti Report, in 67 Ford made 762 CC's. From what I've read Ford DID make their own CC's, since at least the mid 60's. You can see pics in ads starting at 68 or 69. Look online for the old Ford truck ads and you will see. In the early 60's they were also custom made by a Canadian coach company. The differences seem quite obvious though. Keep looking online for info but be weary as everything is not correct. The early CC manufacturing seems quite interesting as they were made one at a time by skilled workers at Ford using a second cab the purchaser paid for. Ours happens to be a very well built one but I've heard quality can be different depending on the particular craftsmen that worked on them. Most were made for government, utility corporations, emergency services and such. Ours was specially ordered by a Ford dealership. We guess as an advertising/sales gimmick, service truck or maybe just the rich owner.

Good luck with yours and have fun!

Ford didn't start making SuperCabs until '74. Dodge was the first to offer that style (called a Club Cab by them) in '73. Extended Cab is a GM term. They didn't come out until some time in the '80s

So I feel your pain. Glad you were able to get it done.
