Seems to me Braided Stainless would go right along with all the rest of the sweet workmanship!

Not dissing the soft hose, It looks good blue on blue, and as you stated it is only a return line.

I was thinking that the fit was too tight to work with braided line...

And I resolved my goof-up with the timing cover.... bored a hole for the pump shaft/nut to clear and then welded an outer piece to close her back up.

I just went back and skimmed over the past looking for the spring angle and didn't see it ...

What angle do you have them at and are they vertical fore and aft??

The coils are vertical from the side view and about 3 degrees in at the top from the front view.

;-)

Whoops, I meant to say 'shock' not 'spring', either way is still the same!

Thanks ...

Hrdrokn....Glad to see you're back at it. She's gonna be a sweet ride when you're done.

Festus....I mentioned the saying to my honey and she laughed...said "really, I always though it was "I see said the blind man to the deaf man.""
I had never heard that one either.....now we're all a little wiser.

Any thoughts as to which style alternator to use? The advantages of the Denso unit on the left is that it is a good bit smaller in size and still does 120 amps (I believe)... the Delco unit could be a 160 amp version.

Seems like a bit of a toss-up...Denso for perhaps slightly better reliability (Japanese manufacture over GM?) or Delco for higher amperage. I think I'd take them both in to an electric motor repair shop and have them tested, then go from there. One might be in better shape than the other, that could be a determining factor. I would bet either one ain't cheap to replace...

Personally, I'd go with the Denso ... But it's a to each their own choice!

Ottawaguy,

The first part is from the Bible. John 9:1-41.

It became what is called a "Tom Swiftie" which are "excruciating adverbial puns" originated by Edward Stratemeyer in a series of strip cartoons about a character called Tom Swift in the 1920s.

The original sentence is:
"I see," said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw.

However there are many many variations today. Google it!

HRDROKN, Sorry for cluttering your thread ... If you want it gone, have a mod delete it, or tell me and I'll edit out the drivel.

-Enjoy

...including the one I've always used, "I see said the blind man to his deaf daughter."

I will be going with a new unit... just using one of these styles to make my mounts as I can tuck them a bit closer than the factory mounts. I have to be careful on the size to be able to complete the cold pipes on the twins. The factory mounts and the Delco is a no go (I tried) .... leaves no room for the low pressure turbo intake piping....
