I just got done putting my 2008 console in my 2004 F-250 and can say that it is well worth it over the jumpseat. If any of you are thinking of doing this then you should know that there is nothing to it. The brackets that come with the console go right in with no problems, no drilling is needed. I'll post pics tomorrow. Have fun!
Good to hear the install is so easy. My 2008 console should come in the mail tomarrow. Did you have to remove either of the front seats before removing the jump seat? It looks like the jump seat brackets are under the driver's and passenger's seats.
Yes, the seats have to be removed, the console brackets go underneath the seat brackets on every corner. I just got done uploading the pictures of after the install into my gallery so take a look, lol.
1. What does the inside look like? Is there an insert to take in and out for CD's, etc?
2. Did the power points come with it to wire up to the truck as i hear there are two now as a part of the console.
I got mine off of ebay for $225, $70 to ship it. The same seller has another one on there right now.
Lonewolftx, it was a take out of a new truck, it has one power point inside and the plug is mounted on the passenger side, a clean way to finish it would be to go to Ford and buy the male end of the plug and run the wires to a power source under the dash. It came with the tray that sits right on top on the inside, its not a big enough tray for cds though.
Gage2502, I believe it would fit as they use the same bolt holes as my 40/20/40 did.
OK, I am confused. If the console has the female plug in it, then wouldn't you just wire that to the truck so the male end could plug into it and power whatever you are plugging in?
So the interior of it is one big empty hole, w/ a small tray that sits on top of it? They talked about it being like some sort of mobil desk/office space to hold folders, etc.

thanks.
It has a power point inside with wires running to the passenger side of the console where it goes into a female plug, kinda like how the power seats are plugged in underneath, it would then need a male plug to go from there to a power source. Yes, the console is big enough to hold folders and such but there are no compartments inside of it, just a big storage space.

I beleave there is a small plastic lip at the front/rear of the opening that allows you to use standard office "hanging folders" inside the console. But I'm not 100% on this. I will check on my console next week. :-)
as much as I like the idea of the jump seat, i am sure I would get a lot more use out of this style of console. Plus, the power point for the rear. hmmm..
They can be had on fleabay for under $250. I have been interested in this for quite some time.
