Just picked an '08 console up on ebay for $156 including brackets. I was outbid on it but got a second chance offer - obviously the seller had two of them or the winner backed out. I confirmed during auction that it came with the brackets.
Likely won't get time to install it for awhile, but grabbed it anyway. I already have the centre console in mine, but wanted the newer style so I could use it as my armrest, I find the captains chair armrests aren't the most comfortable for me.

"Having time" isn't a real issue- with an air gun, it's a 8 minute job. Not kidding.

I was moving the old center seat to storage this weekend, so I took a look... The bracketing on the original seat would have never worked with the '08 console. Just an FYI for those still in questing mode.
Here's a look at the finished product. These pictures do it no justice, 'cuz it's soooo nice!
OZ regarding the brackets, it looks like the brackets on the 08 console catch all 4 of the center front seat bolt/studs is that correct? The jump seat catches the front inside pair of seat bolts but has its own unique set of rear attachment points correct?
Mild hijack:
Earlier in the thread another member asked if the armrests needed to be removed for this install. That was confirmed. Anyone done this solution specifically on the stop studs for the armrests? The armrests come off easily, but the studs appear welded for posterity.

I know this isn't a Super Duty, but I installed a 08 SD console into my Expedition. The truck is the police package, so it didn't have a center console stock.
Can someone help me with the part number I need to order the correct rear panel for my console. I have a crew cab and need the back panel with the cupholders. I already bought the console itself. I also need the part number to get the wiring plug so I can get the power points in the console working. Thanks.
Also I am thinking of converting the rear seat to captain's chairs and need another console. Is the rear console the same as the front one?

What color did you use? I am wanting to convert my whole interior to black.

Check out the picture in this thread I made a while ago. It has a diagram showing all the console parts and numbers. I'd print out the picture and bring it to your Ford parts department.
I too am interested in adding the rear cup holders onto my console. But it just isn't a priority for me right now.
what tool did you guys use to remove the seat bolts? I know its a T55 torx socket, but those are hard to find! Is there an alternative i can use to remove them?
