Can anyone tell me why one seller on ebay says that the console won't line up and bolt into pre-'08 trucks? He says that he just has his sitting there and it stays put without bolting it down. What's he talking about? Everyone here has done it no problem. Am I missing something here?

I only have some in-work shots now, and have yet to upload them to the web. directfordparts.com is a class-act all the way. Thanks again for the hook-up! I am now in mod limbo for a while...
Silly boy- I'm taking a three day weekend to put mine in...!

Thanks! I'm doing a bit more while I've got the seats out- hard wiring my 2500 watt inverter to a duplex outlet on the console & running some control wires for strobes and LED lights as well. Nice thing is I'll wire it all on the bench first and then drop it in and snake the cables- not have to hang upside down trying to make it all work without taking the seats out.

Sounds like a great project! Now that I know how easy it is to get the seats out of the truck, I'll pull them anytime I have to do any lengthy under-dash work. You have me thinking about an inverter now too... 2500W is a big ol' boy! What will you run off of that?

Do you have to buy the electrical female end to the console for wiring or do you splice into the wire male outlet?

It's just wire, so I cut-n-spliced. No need to buy a $30.00 pigtail from Ford.

Very cool... Great addition on the compressor. It's on my list, but the pace is slower now.

I have a love/hate relationship with rain... I posted some of the work-in-progress pictures in my gallery. They're in the "New Truck" section. I'll get finished product pics in there later tomorrow... Go have a glance!

I never did look at it after the install. Wait a minute.... SHORT? I don't think so, unless 6'1" is short in Texas
More pics of the completed project to come...
Thanks for the install tips!

simply because that one guy on ebay wants to make himself feel better and wants you to buy the console and feel like you not getting short changed. So it is a lot easier to sell the console when you say that the mounting brackets don't match up and you have to just let is sit on the floor vs. telling everyone that it doesn't have brackets and that once you buy the console you are going to have to order brackets before you ever install it.

I haven't checked, but it sure looks suspiciously like the brackets that hold the middle seat might be the same as the new console ones...
