Jim just a tip if you start to tear your apart. The front seal needs to come out first. Remove the snap ring and press the shaft and front bearing out the front. I am working with a 15* so thats are far as I have gotten so far as I need to remove the rear bearing as well. Not much time at the shop other than when I am punched in on thursdays.

Did you read the part about identifing 17* pumps from the outside. I was disappointed when I discovered they may have a bushing instead of a bearing. I guess it depends on the core they use for remans.

Yes I knew about the back cover not being the tell all. The 17* use the bushing and the 15* use the bearing. i have pulled the cover off 3 pumps. 2 15* and 1 17*.
