<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">i've read some mixed reviews on this problem but nothing from other PSD owners, however i think the E4AOD is all the same isn't it?.

He's the deal....i noticed the other day that the tranny started shifting very firm. I mean a firm shift is good in some ways but this was uncomfortably firm. Then I noticed the O/D light was blinking. Now whats weird is that the trans works fine other than shifting firmly, tcc engages, etc....The only thing I noticed that was a little out of the ordinary was when i'd was getting into an offramp, it'd downshift to third and sometimes right to second depending on speed and jerk me forward (because of the engine braking). Wasn't a problem, but I don't quite remember the trans downshifting so quick and with the other two symptoms im assuming im going to have a large headache on my hands very soon.



ANY IDEAS what this could be???? I hear so many different things about the O/D light blinking. I've heard from one fellow that I should just bite bullet and rebuild the trans now. I don't quite have $2500 or so to be spending unless its absolutely necessary. Could this be as simple as im low on fluid? (i know this sounds stupid, i checked my fluid) or maybe the filter needs replacing?

I have also heard this could be a speed sensor problem, however if it was a speed sensor wouldn't the speedo be off? Speedo works fine. Im hoping this is just a bad sensor in the tranny. How do I go about pulling a transmission code? Someone also said the ODBII scanners you get from the auto parts store won't be able to read the tranny codes. Is this true?

It could be anything from a dirty electrical connection to needing a full rebuild. There is a code stored in the PCM's memory that will tell you what is wrong. Changing ANY parts without knowing the codes is a waste of money.
