An extra part? C6 in E250

An extra part? C6 in E250
This is a simple one, but has me perplexed.
I just changed the tranny vacuum modulator on my C6 and after I was done, I noticed a pin lying on the blanket I was using for ground cover.
Did the pin come out of the tranny? All I can figure out is that the pin fell out while I was swapping modulators. It is a short round pin that is rounded on both ends. It does fit into the modulator, but the questions is, does it belong there.
I haven't been able to find an expolded diagram for the C6 online anywhere.
I have a 1978 E250, 460, C6, NP205 combo in a Quadravan.
