yup. PCMCI 56k modem for laptop. That's what you have to get. Make sure before buying that you have a slot for card to go through.(PCMCI slot) if not then dont buy and buy an external modem. again check for connection it requires. Typically COM port or PArallel.

Looking up that model on the HP website it looks like you have the DV6000z without a modem (the DV6000t has a modem). It also looks like you have one expansion slot (pcmcia card slot) You should be able to buy and pcmcia modem card and plug her right in there!

If you buy at a retail store you should take the laptop in to be sure the card will fit. If you are confident you can order one online.
