I have another question on the 6637. Does MPG go up, down, or the same. That is a big factor for me.Power I have but fuel econ is important because of the miles I drive.

Mileage is affected by a lot of things, I would think that with the open intake(less restriction) that it might go up slightly. another big mileage improver is to check EBP tube and sensor and make sure they are not clogged. Fuel additives can also increase milege, BUT, the biggest thing is keep the RPMs at 2000 or below and you will see a huge improvement.
Thanks.I have noticed a big difference in mileage vs speed.I put the 6637 on today and going to give it a try.I want the very best for my truck since Ford decided to quit making MY Motor and did not even ask my opinion.I bought my first Power Stroke in 94(Still going) and my last one in 2003.
Another discovery I made recently that helps justify a pre-filter cover is that my 6637 came loose frmo the 4-inch transition pipe between the filter and the intake tube. The only filtration I had at that point for a couple of days was my cover that overlapped that area and kept out any large dirt. I've fixed that now and have no more problems, but I'm sure glad I had my cover on.
BTW... where are you located, calf roper? I'm in Birmingham, but get down to the Prattville/Selma/Montgomery region regularly. In fact, Brandon and I and a couple other get together for lunch sometimes. If your anywhere nearby, you'd always be more than welcome to join us.

No... the long shutdown is someone else's project, but I still have some lingering loose ends right now, just with no set plans yet for my next trip. I'll be running to Selma more frequently in the near future, but things are also supposed to heat back up again for me in Pratt after September.
