I like games!
I'm going to guess that it's something for lubing the ball joints and then removing them again due to clearance issues with the 4x4 u-joint.
Its a removable thing-a-ma-flogger, you know, so you can adjust the sliding resistance of your spring-a-ma-flickey. Both of which are located on the doo-ma-jigger.
A couple of days ago I had my right front hub off and decided that I would try Cookie's method of greasing the front hubs. I had a devil's-own time getting the grease through the hole, so I made this adapter.
Remove the ABS sensor, insert this, pump a few shots of grease, replace sensors. The best part is, the hubs don't have to come off to do it.
Cookie has been greasing his hubs for a few years (I'll let him fill in the details) and hasn't had a hub bearing failure as a result.
After I had one hub fail, I thought I'd give it a try.
Only time will tell...

Alright, great idea but now you gotta tell us what the o-ring fitting attached to the grease zerk is (part number or whatever) so we can build our own.
The green o-ring is one off the old (left) hub's sensor.
Though I replaced that hub 20,000 miles ago, I never seem to throw anything away, so I still had it for measurements, and I just took the o-ring off that sensor.
If we can get the dimensions I can machine that piece at work no problem. Maybe I can even talk a CNC guy into macro programming a machine and we can make up a few to mail out.
That would be great.I would like to do mine, but going out there and sticking a little on the finger at a time just isn't going to cut it.This is a much better solution.
Rep points left.....
Its been 18 months since I replaced my drivers side, so I really cant remember what the back looks like. My truck is a NON ABS on the front. Does this mean I would have a plug in the ABS hole or are the non abs unit bearings machined without the hole. If machined without the ABS sensor hole, could I just drill and tap them for a zerk?
My drivers side went out at 195K. The pax side is still OE and has 245K on it. I would like to have the pax side last as long as possible, as well as the newer drivers side.
