It will because I have to wait for the insurance company to asses the damage, take pictures, and then get it fixed. The obvious is that the bumper, fog lights, and maybe some of the steering components, need to be replaced. The sad part is the shop where I need to get this fixed is booked and can't get someone out there for the next two weeks! So once I get back, they might be able to squeeze me in, get a look at it, and start the repairs once they get all the parts in.
I'm ok and so is the other guy, so no worries there. But this is setting me back another two and a half weeks. Some of the steering components need to be replaced anyhow, so I guess it isn't all that bad.
After being gone on business for the last two weeks, the X is finally going to be out of the shop either monday or tuesday. I was shooting for the lift and tires being installed by this weekend, but now I have ANOTHER problem: 4wheelonline sold me the wrong kit!!!!!! I've spoken with three (3) different associates there (at different times throughout this difficult process) and they all assured me that the Excursion and F250 kits were exactly the same, they just had different model numbers. (it didn't make sense to me, but they sell this stuff, I don't) Looking at the manual, pics online of the actual kits, and the rear leaf springs, it's obvious there is a difference.
The front parts of the kits are identical, the only difference is the rear leaf springs. The Excursion kit has an entirely new leaf-spring pack whereas the F250 is just an add-a-leaf setup. I've e-mailed the proper individuals that can and better fix my problem. I should be hearing from them on monday.
I got the procomp 6 inch kit. Igotoneforya (props to Adam ) Gave me the heads up about the rear end sagging with the springs they give you in the kit. I talked to someone at 4wheelparts and he suggested I get some F-250 blocks to maintain the factory rake. So now the back end sits slightly higher than the front; so if I ever tow something, there's no sagging. The finished product tomorrow.....
Thats a good prop. I had the same problem. The fabtech blocks made my rear end sag 2 inchs. Why does it seem to do that with 2wd trucks only?
Don't know, but it seems that it happens on 4wd trucks too. The blocks 4wheelparts suggested actually leveled a 4wd truck, but made my rear end seem 1.5 to 2 inches higher than the front. I may see if I can get a smaller block for the rear, but for now I'll live with it. Pics will be up soon if I can find my camera......
The kit came with a 1 inch block. I dont know why cause the front was 4 inchs taller!! Beleive it or not i drove around like that for 2 weeks. Looked like i had a bounch of woman in the back of my truck! I went to the guy who i bought the lift from and i bought a 3 inch block off of him as a temperory fix. Now the front is one inch taller. I plan on ordering a 5 inch leaf springs to fix the problem and replace the blocks. Hopefully the rear wioll be one inch taller then the front like stock.

So based on what you're telling me, all I need is a one, if not two inch block to be level if not factory rake? I say this because I got 5 inch springs in my kit and now I KNOW that I over compensated for the supposed sag.
Now what you've all been waiting for...(especially i eat hybrids )
Stock:
Lifted with stock tires
8/16/07 Lifted but with 305s obviously the wrong tires for this lift. This pic is proof enough that those rear SD blocks were a bad idea:

The man that I am in debt to for this all:
To me the rear end looks way too high, so once my wallet recovers I'm going to get it leveled if not just slightly higher than the front. Special Thanks goes to igotoneforya and i eat hybrids as these were the people who inspired and supported me throughout this lengthy process. Now there are three of us with lifted 2wd trucks. Thanks again guys. Comments and suggestions are more than welcome......

I have a 2WD and that makes me want to lift mine although I also like the lowered look... I agree the rear needs some leveling but pretty cool look for a 2WD. I hate to read how much trouble you had to get to this point though. Thanks for sharing your experience and outcome. I had seen I EAT HYBRIDS pics before and thought it was cool that he took a 2WD down this route also. You guys make me want to spend money. I gotta stop reading this board!
