You can use any IDM out of a 7.3l powerstroke. Voltages are a bit higher on the newer ones but thats a good thing!

will the higher voltages potentially damage the wiring for the injectors or is that not an issue? im just a little leary cuz i just had to replace the entire harness and it wasnt cheap!

nope won't hurt a thing. I am runing the superduty IDM and other guys ahve done the IDM mod which boosts voltage to 140volts. the amperage doesn't change. amperage melts wires

junk yards have them sometimes, ebay used ones or check out this thread with links to some IDM rebuilders that I have heard good things about on ebay.
