haha I got pulled over once in AZ near Lake Powel and I was only doing 70 mph in a 65.....hey I am from Montana and we have a 5 mph buffer limit. So the officer asks me "Do you know how fast you were going?" lol so I was like "well sir I am not sure" then the officer says "you were doing 69 mph!" I was like what the heck, thats with in the buffer. Well I got a warning so it was all good, boy was I glad to get back into Montana a day later.

haha very nice story, here in jersey i don't think they give tickets for even 10 over the speed limit, it's pretty much everyone goes AT LEAST 10 over and noone gets a ticket

Just back from the Diesel station and another fill up. The F450 now has 902 miles on the odometer and the last 2 fill up's netted 11.67 and 11.37 mpg. This is with 4:88 gears. The last fill up was almost entirely highway including about 60 miles with the cruise set at 75mph.

the 6.0 couldnt get 15 going down hill in neutral. I find it hard to believe the 6.4 will be any better then the 6.0 the new toyota is being designed to get 20 plus in a 3/4 or 1 ton.

I have tried the going down hill in neutral with my 6.0. And I showed 99.9 mpg. I did this several times on my way to pick up my brother-in-law. When he got in the truck I showed him the readout. It said I was getting 54 mpg. So this proves your statement to be false. Go buy your Toy and stick to Ford information here.

Honestly, I'm not doing anything special. I live in the country and little to no city driving. Even when I use the truck for work it's a 30 mile 1 way commute, which is not bad, but, not as mileage crippling as say a 5 mile commute.
This weekend my daughter and I drove to an Archery shop to shoot, which was 86 miles one way......set the cruise at 65 and even bumped it up to 75 for about 60 miles on the way home.
Filled up last evening and Like I said, I figured it on paper (Not the Lie-O-meter) to 11.37........
I guess I have to crawl under the truck and verify that they did indeed install 4:88's?????
I'd have to guess that in the 5 times I've topped off the tank, over all I'm probably averaging between 10.8 and 11 over the 902 miles on the speed-o

For me, personaly it is with hand calculations. Though my overhead (Lariats only) is off by .4 everytime. Meaning if it says 16.4. I calaculate gallons used to fill tank to neck (I always fill to neck) to miles driven.

the two people I know that have 7.3, do not have a overhead computer and calculate by hand.

Went on a 250+ trip today averaged 15.5 MPG. Hopefully this thing will loosen up even further. I get around 11 in the city... If I can keep my foot out of it.

OK, I gathered the miles and the gallons from my log book and added them all up, Here goes: The truck is as follows, 2008 F450, Automatic, 4X4, 4:88's

1st; 309.6 miles 29 gallons = 10.67
2nd; 202.2 miles 18.4 gallons = 10.98
3rd; 155.1 miles 13.3 gallons = 11.66
4th; 235.4 miles 20.7 gallons = 11.37

Total; 902.3 miles / 81.4 gallons = 11.08 average mpg

That is terrrible fuel economy, our 05 F250 4x4 PSD has had 2 turbo chargers and several injectors and an egr replaced and it gets 14.5 most of the time. Our F650 with the Cummins diesel and allison transmission is getting between 11 to 12.8 mpg with the truck loaded and weighing 20,400 pounds. Maybe Ford should consider putting the Cummins in the F250.

Consider the fact that his engine only has 902.3 miles on it so far Before you start complaining about a truck you dont even have. By the way I have seen a post some where for an 2008 6.4 that is getting 15 MPG.

By all means go for it those things are fn hideous go join the jap forums I quite frankly love fords and wouldn't even consider the toys cause thats what they are
