JK2402.. I send you a PM with my email... Got the tank fron UPS about an hour ago... Getting too late today to work on it. WIll start early tomorrow morning... Pictures will be great to compare where I am thinking it will have to go....
thanks
By the way, Kong horns sound great and plenty loud for me....
You also need to be concerned about the recovery time. You may get 8 two second blasts from the tank, but how long until you're back up to pressure?
yeah i was thinking about a viair 380c but may need to upgrade. i've started a thread about how to calculate the air usage, but haven't been able to locate the cfm each horn uses. i'm new to this air horn stuff so i'm not sure how it works with the psi levels and such.
can you have a tank at 200 psi and use some sort of regulator that drops it down to 110 psi to the horns?

... I got the tank mounted yesterday about midway between front and back seat, outside frame rails, on drivers side. It will be ok about an inch below the level of the running boards. I found a small drain which only sticks out about 3/8" below the coupling in the tank... That will be the lowest point.. Use existing holes in frame and fabricated a couple of brackets to carry it.. Working on plumbing today. Did get horns mount on top of my ATV storage box yesterday. That wil put horns about 6 inches above my headacke rack. Will be the highest point so will have to be careful going under any obstacles.... Should get all the plumbing done today except the compressor. Hopefully be here tomorrow.
There is something that has be worrying me since I got my horns/package (Siege: kong mk1, 200psi, 1/2 inch valve, 1/2 inch hose).
They sent the wrong fitting (3/8 compression type fitting with 1/2 npt). I needed the 1/2 compression fitting. I couldn't wait so I installed regular rubber hose (temporary).
Here is the thing: they sent the 1/2 inch compression fitting but it only had 1/4" pipe thread. Can someone explain why I would go back under that truck and replumb it and only end up with an outlet 1/4" in diameter from the tank. I called them to ask them just now. I have yet to speak with anyone at Siege-Engineer that has any idea what they are selling. I called now four time.
I am serious in asking. I have tried to locate a fitting at home depot. I bought a push to connect type 1/2 inch fitting. Got the fitting installed and found that the so called 1/2" hose is really 1/2 od so it wouldn't work with that fitting.
I don't know if I should take out the rubber hose and the associated quick disconnects or leave it.

Reason: typo
i did my own plumbing .. bought my fittings here locally at River City Hydraulics .. they have every hose to pipe size you can imagine .. everything I have is 1/2" hose and 1/2" pipe

Hydroulic Hoses and fittings are the way to go. Thanks
You had mentioned a regulator before. Do regulators come in 1/2 inch? In other words if I leave my tank psi at 200psi and regulate the pressure down to say 150, am I reducing volume? The reason I'm tore up over the 1/2" verses !/4" pipe thread is volume or air speed I guess. I don't really know what is important in the big picture.
