Hey Guys,
I'm looking for a set of molded mud flaps for my truck. I have an 04 Lariat Supercab. I have the 6.5' Styleside bed. Everything I look at online says the flaps are for applications either with or without factory flares. The sheet metal on the quarter panels flare out slightly and there appears to be a square lip molding on that also around the wheel well edge. I'm assuming that these are NOT in fact factory flares.
Can anybody clarify this for me? I want to get a set so I can keep crap from flying up on the side of my truck and chipping the heck out of the paint.
i didnt want to spend $40 a pair on ford mudflaps so i bought a pair for $20 a pair (cant remember what brand). They didnt even come close to fitting so i broke down and got the ford ones. So all in all i spent $60 a pair by trying to save some money. I had to destroy the package of the cheap ones to get them out of the plastic package and didnt think the store would take them back and of course threw away the receipt. Anyways the ford ones went on quick and easy and were a bit thicker too. Id go to your dealer and get the ones for your truck for the best fit.
i just installed the husky liners today.....they fit perfect and look great....the ford ones can't fit any better because these are perfect with no gap at all between flap and fender....
I went on Ebay and found a set of Ford factory flaps (say that three times fast). I got them for $.99 + $7.30 shiping. Just removed two screws and plastic plug on bottom placed the flap on and replaced screws and plug. On truck without the fender flares there is still a small plastic molding on bottom corner. The flaps go right over them. Pretty much eliminated all the crap piling up on running boards.
