ok went to pull wire harness at valve covers. I didnt break anything YET but I cannot get them off. I'm pushing down on the center peice and pulling out with my other hand. Any tips.
I didnt check at the valve cover yet its dinner time but I might give it a shot after dinner. When I test the Gp's you said to put a probe on the negative terminal. Did you mean the negative terminal of the Batteries?
Ok I ohmed at the valve covers today, this is what I found.
-Drivers side:
inj#2- 3.0
inj#4- 9.5
inj#6- 8.6
inj#8- 3.2
-Pass. side:
inj#1- 3.2
inj#3- 3.2
inj#5- 3.2
inj#7- 3.2
Allan, Why would inj#4 and #6 Ohm higher at the valve cover than at the IDM plug? I thought it would be the other way around wiith all the wiring adding resistance to the injectors.

I would be taking the driver side valve cover off and checking those wires. It looks as if the wires inside are a bit screwed up, a possible reason for the higher ohms, did u drive the truck today? That could of moved something a little bit and caused more, thus increasing the chance that there is something wrong with the inside under the valve cover.
I think I fugured out why I was getting different reading on a warm engine Every injector specs <5 ohms at the IDM plug. HUH???? And on a stone cold engine # 6 ohms at 8.6 and #4ohms at 9.5 @the IDM plug. So why does the engine have a shake as it warms up as #4 and #6 come back down to spec???? I'm officialy lost now.
BTW: the reason I havent just pulled the valve cover yet is becuase I live in an apartment complex and I'm not aloud to work on my vehicle. I'm working on finding a place to I can tear it apart at.
I dont want to loose faith in my newly learned diagnostic abilities so if anyone has explain the numbers above I'd appreciate it.
All those look pretty good ICP and IPR are right in line for an idle reading. A CCT will not return values but if a cylinder is over 5% it will return a code. I believe that scanner has the capability of reading the "Rotational Velocity Change %" for each cylinder. If he will let you use it again look at that PDI on a warm engine and see what 4 & 6 are reading. I would bet they are <5% but greater than the rest
Pullinair, resistance CAN change with temperature. Me thinks the next step would be to remove the valve cover and check the injectors directly. It sounds to me like your harness may be bad. Congrats on your new found abilities. You're never too old to learn something!
