Very interesing dicussions.
I put the K&N FIPK on my truck 80,000 miles ago. I'm very particular with how I service my truck and take care of it so I monitor it closely. Read a number of threads like this one and thought I'd give the NAPA filter a try, ran it for probably 10,000 miles, monitoring it and comparing the two. I thought the K&N did a better job of filtering. When I pulled the NAPA filter to check it, I could do a finger wipe on the inside of the intake tube and it would leave a mark, I haven't been able to do that with my K&N. Maybe I put it together wrong with the NAPA filter, but so far the K&N has been working great for me. Maybe part of that is it's mostly on the highway and it's not pulling a trailer all the time. Just my experience.

I've been using my K&N FIPK filter for a few years now. I have taken it apart for cleaning and reoiling and have not seen any dust. Just last week I had opened it up to make room for splicing in a Superlift TruSpeed box. I did not see any dust in the air tube leading up to the Turbo. I do have a filter wrap on my K&N, but that just keeps the large chunks out of the filter pletes. I've been happy so far. In a few weeks I will be changing to a WW compressor wheel, and I find out what the old compressor wheel looks like up close.
