Am I missing something here or what? According to the OBD my TPS is acting up. Ordered one from Napa and it's not right... called ford and we crossed the numbers and they said it's the right part. Only they are telling me it is bolted to the injection pump...not the top of the pedal Don't know where the parts man is getting his info but for giggles I checked the pump and as I expected nothing....
Gave them the number off the sensor I pulled off the pedal, couldn't find it in the system. He did tell me I could get a pedal assembly for $330 but can't get the sensor at the top seperately. He couldn't even tell me what the sensor was for But argued with me that it is no the TPS. Guess I'm gonna have to order a pedal assembly tomorrow
yes its technically a tps. yes you need the whole pedal assembly and the part you got was for a mechanical indirect injection 7.3 diesel 94.5 and earlier.
I kinda figured from the F2TZ number on the part it was for the old IDI with the mech linkage. It's starting to flash the check engine and OD lights and have no pedal response. Usually after one press of the pedal it starts to work again. I'm also throwing a turbo boost code, but figuring it is from the TPS not reading right (will act like a upshift while pulling heavy loads up hill, lose power, down shift and crawl the hill). Reset codes a couple of weeks ago and it ran great till the lights started flashing again, same codes as before.
