03-05 Excursion Power Pedal question

Got a question.... I installed my CTS and keep getting an intermittent DTC for the Accelerator Pedal Position I think if I can rememeber off the top off my head is , p2138, and p2140. I was gonna order a new Pedal assembly being the TPS is by wire rather than by cable. But whoa.... 500.00 for a new power pedal assembly? And I have never since the day I have owned the truck ever remember seeing the accelerator pedal move during the activation of the pedal switch, I assume that when the button is pushed the brake and the accelerator pedal are suppose to move. Well only my brake pedal moves back and forth. Anyway... we cant just purchase the TPS sensor? We are required to purchase the whole assembly? Does anyone know for sure? I have gone 3 years and dont care about the pedal moving... As a matter of fact I keep the brake pedal all the way down as well, so what are your thoughts? Thanks for the heads up...

Yes, both pedals are supposed to move at the same time. I don`t remember offhand if there is one motor and 2 cables or if there are just 2 seperate motors? do you know if the APP sensor is the exact same between power pedals and non-power pedals? maybe you can buy the non-power pedal and swap in the APP? just a thought!

Good luck!

As indicated both pedals move together.
Interestingly, when I was shopping several of the Ex's I test drove
had only 1 pedal move as the OP reported. So it's not rare for sure.

AS long as the pedals are where YOU want them, I guess it's
not a problem, but having the pedals @ different spots could
lead to having your foot trapped behind the brake pedal in an
emergency situation.

I'm 6'8" so I always keep the brake pedal all the way to the floor. And the accelerator is stuck in the most lowest position so it is pretty safe.

In my online searches I did end up finding a used one from an 06 F250 for 100.00. I'm gonna give it a shot and see if it works. Wish me luck....
