Rough Idle at start up

Hey all, I have a new situation with my 97 f350 psd. When I first start it up it almost wont idle (whomp,whomp,whomp) then i give it a little pedal, it cleans up and runs perfect, untill, i turn it off and restart it then it does the same (whomp,whomp,whomp) thing till i give it some pedal to clean it up. this goes on for a few restarts then it stops, and runs fine.To me it almost sounds like a few cylinders are not ignighted at first then they light up.. could this be a cps, glow plugs? help me if you can, i'll greatly appreciate it...

BTW im at 107k all stock with the exception of a cold air intake...

Does it whomp, whomp when it's started hot? If it's OK hot you may have a couple Gp's bad.

na, it only does it for a few start ups, then it quits till it cools off again.

Mine does it sometimes even when hot .. i do belive i have some bad glow plugs because i have alots of smoke when started cold .. the dealership told me when i bought my truck that they had just replaced the glowplugs and relay .. im stating to wonder if they mite have lied to me ?
