TPS voltage and position
I just purchased a 2003 E-250 with the 4.6.
I hooked it up to my lap top and the TPS shows 20% open during idle(Idle is around 700RPM) AND during key on engine off with no pedal depression.
The scanner also shows me a 25% engine load during idle.
I checked the voltage with the same scanner and it's showing .99v during key on engine off no pedal. I didn't start the engine while checking the voltage since the 20% position hadn't changed.
I replaced the TPS with a NAPA brand and it's doing the same thing.
The TPS is non adjustable.
Is my scanner screwy? Or is there something else I should do to get the position to 0 at idle?
Thanks,
Clint

and a lot more
I did some research before posting..... I kept reading that the voltage was in the desired range. I posted the voltage in my original thread because I figured that would answer some questions before needing to be asked.
I can't figure out why my scanner is showing a 20% open position, and a 25% engine load at idle. I'm assuming they are related.
My main problem is during accelleration so since changing the TPS my next step is the plugs....
I'd still like to know why I'm seeing what I am with the scanner though.
Thanks,
Clint
