Actually Jody has built all of his programming around the black CPS and does not reccommend using the blue one for any length of time with his programs. Having the blue as a spare is fine and you should always carry a spare. Black one is preferred.

Well I am fixing to get a DP Tuner from Jody and I have heard that he says to use a blue one. I have a blue one, bran new in the box, never even attempted to change if anyone needs the blue one and since it is this time of year....(and I could use the cash) I can let someone take it for $100 including shipping.....PM me if anyone is interested....just figured someone that can use it should get some use out of it and I will get me another spare.....thanks, Dave
I've been having problems lately with missing words in the notes I send and the notes I read on most threads (anyone else?) so I want to confirm if Jody says use a blue one or not to use a blue one.
Many thanks Alan...you've answered both my questions. Before I yank my Blue CPS I'll check with the Edge/Attitude chip people to see what they recommend. I'll also check spam/popup.
Sorry everyone I was having a senior moment.....I should know better than that.....Jody DOES NOT recommend the blue one, is the reason I am getting rid of the blue one. I have spent waaaaay too much time reading and reading and reading and at some point the words just run together.....I got home from work and Jody himself had left me a message. Of course it was too late to call him back and when I realized I was getting close to getting the DP tuner, that was when I decided to look around here one more time, and noticed this thread...then decided to go ahead and sell the blue one....and will be getting a BLACK one for my spare....sorry for the confusion....the bad weather on the east coast made work outside to day really suck.....but that's no excuse....guess the brain was fried.....Anyway, the blue one is up for grabs if anyone needs it....just pm me or send me an email...thanks...Dave

Ron, thanks for your reply.
I run a blue cps and an edge chip. What specific problems might I expect? I keep a black cps as a spare...maybe I it should be the other way around.

After the discussion re blue cps and chip combo both advancing timing too much and after checking with the chip mfgr who also built his chip around the black cps I yanked the blue and put the black back in. Apparently you could use the blue with a chip if the blue doesn't increase the advance too much. Does anyone have comparative advance specs on blue vs black? I'm not giving up on the blue but until I get an ok from Edge/Attitude I'm not taking a chance on stressing my motor during my tow to TX this winter and Alaska in the spring. I'll try to get more info and will post but meanwhile if anyone has specs now, please post them.
