Hey guys,
I started getting great gas milage after installing a banks ballbaring turbo in my Excurssion, I also installed a Edge tuner. It said it was getting 23.8 mpg, about 740 miles to tank. Now I only get about 600 miles to the tank.
I have these codes showing up now:
P0236 Turbo Boost Sensor A Circuit Performance
P0238 Turbo Boost Sensor A Circuit High Input
P1000 OBD 11 Monitor Checks Not Complete. More Driving Required
Are these factors linked?
First, if you installed a tuner and turbo so you probably got your foot in it to see proformance so your gas milage will be lower and 23 MPGs is very high. do the math to get a better feel for what is going on. Check all the boots (6) and make sure you are lined up on the hose clamp marks and the clamps are centered then tighten them down. Check the Y pipe collector at the side of the turbo towards the firewall. The exhaust donuts leak and you disturb that connection alot when taking off the turbo. That's were my leak was and It made a big difference when I replaced the donuts. Also check for the Green hole going into your intake befor the turbo and make sure this is snug.
you should do the fuel milage calculation by hand. my overhead console says i get 29mpg. you probably noticed a drop in milage because of the winter blend fuel. i get about 3mpg worse in the winter than i do in the summer
Couple of things. The turbo and chip were on when i was getting 23 mpg, so nothing changed in the setup. I have continuously checked the boots and all look good under the hood. I need to know how to check the maps. Can someone please point me in the right direction.
If you have a 38 gallon tank, 740 miles would be 19.4 gallons. Don't trust the L-O-M, i have seen as high as 36.4 mpg on it with a fueling box and tuner stacked.

I really think that the exhuast donuts are leaking ben=hine the trubo but the MAP sensor is located on a bracket attached to the air conditioning evaporator housing and it monitiors the intake maifold pressure changes in engine load and speed and converts them to voltage outputs of 1.9-2.1volts at closed throttle(high vacuum) and .3-.5 at WOT (low vacuum). If you think this may be your problem just replace it as it is under $50 and also look at Waste gate actuator the one with the green and red plastic hoses. llok for leaks, especially where the red Y's and the green going in to your intake before the turbo.
