There's a battery box on the right side ahead of the rear axle. Not sure I'm going to have time to go sort out all the wiring before the really cold sets in but that will indeed be done before taking any sort of road trip. My plan is to turn it into a basic camper for travel needs as wheelchair accomodations can really be a pain in the butt when travelling. Was thinking of adding a switching system & third battery for additional accessories like inverter for charging my chair etc.

the type # 45 with a cca of 750 is what is stock, (watch out for explorer batteries that are only 600 cca) and they were significantly smaller than the optimas I looked at.
when they modified it for the new body, did they leave the dual battery setup and have a tray for the lift battery or just run cables for the lift along the frame?
Some interesting has occured! When I started my truck for the first time since driving @700 miles this weekend it starts much much faster!! I noticed it last night on two starts and again this AM. I wonder if it was "carboned up" from starting and shutting off a lot at the dealer I bought it from??? It now starts in 1.5 seconds consistantly (so far)

comments: they tend to go flat on the batteries if they don't get run for a while weekly, say perhaps 1/2 hr or so.
do clean the connectors, and if the rear battery box still has leads you are indeed fortunate. Don't forget to fuse the lead from the front at the front connection, say about 50/60 amps since it takes only about 3 minutes for your conversion to become totally fried during a chassis fire
take all your other connections from the aux battery only, you'll thank me later.
