My friend recently had problems with his 05 PSD not starting after being parked for 5 min. He had the dealer diagnose the problem and they replaced the CMP sensor. It worked fine that afternoon until he took a 200 mile trip and stopped for gas and the truck wouldn't start. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
Thanks guys, My friend got his truck started and returned home. 400 miles later and a tank of diesel wasted. His whole hunting trip was ruined because the idiots at the Ford dealer replaced the wrong part. You both were right, it ended up being the high pressure oil pump. Another $100 deductible and $40 a day for a rental truck. Needless to say he isn't very happy with his $30K plus 05 truck being in the shop again.
It's not the dealers fault the the problem happened in the first place. The only reason it was at the dealer was because it would't start in the first place. Not very impressive for a new truck. Yes the dealer screwed up, but not as bad as the Ford engineers.
There was mention of the TSB on a braket for the HPOP quick connect. My question is is this on the '04's? I took my truck in yesterday for any and all "upgrades" for fututre problems (its a long story) anyways I mentioned this part, not wanting to get stranded and the tech said its not on the '04's-saying it won't be a problem...is this true?

The problem with the fitting is on the '05 model engines.
