CMP Recall

Today Ford sent me a letter saying records show my truck has not had the 07S57 - Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Inspection / Replacement performed yet ! If I have not had problems yet should I be concerned about this and which color sensors are good and which colors sensor are bad. Also do they let you keep the old parts as spares. Thanks Oslo

I got that same letter...Mine has been replaced since day 1 (a few times). Will they still replace it, even though it is not origanal?

So you think if I have replaced the origanal already....they won't replace it? even though I have not taken advantage of the recall?

Yup got that letter too, I had a problem with my truck awhile back and replaced it with an auto zone one (before I knew to go to ford for it) and my dealer wanted me to drop it off for a whole day. It took me about 15 minutes so I think its a rip off to leave it there all day

I started having problems with losing the Ford ones every 3-5K miles, so at a suggestion I switched to the International one about 35K miles ago and haven't had a problem since. They look EXACTLY like the current Ford one, one would think they should be the same but apparently they arent.

Current International part number is 1876735c91. My local International Dealer charged me $19 for it.
