cmp sensor 95 powerstroke
Hi,
I have a automatic 95 350 powerstroke with 185K miles on it. Original transmission. I use it extensively for hauling my horse trailer, 5,000pds empty, add 3 hrs at 1,000 pd each and aslo a heavy 11ft camper. Stopped into the local ford dealer and the service guy was shocked that this truck has not given us a bit of trouble. He mentioned the cmp sensor and that it would be a good idea to have one in the glove compartment. Biggest fear is to be stranded in this heat with 4horses in the back.
Has anyone else had problems with this cmp sensor? Is there a cheaper place to buy them than ford dealers? Was wondering about the part number also. Also wondering how everyone likes their 95 powerstrokes and if there is anything else I should be concerened about with this truck.
thanks ,Judy

The cheapest place to buy one is at an International dealer/service center. Here's a link to their website so you can find a dealer:

Here are the part numbers:
Engine Serial # 375548 and below is part # 1821720C99
Engine Serial # 375549 and up is part # 1825899C93
FYI, International calls it a "CAMP sensor". I'm surprised you made it this long without replacing it. If you're going to carry a spare, make sure you have a 10mm socket in you glove compartment as well.
