1999 f250 7.3 powerstroke
Hello all I am a new owner to a 1999 f250 7.3 powerstroke, I have only had the truck for a couple of months and am experiencing a problem, it stalls when driving,a friend who also has one suggested it may be the cmp camshaft position sensor 12k073, we have already changed it for a used spare that he had but it has started to stall again.
I ordered a new one that I will fit tomorrow. thanks in advance for any guidance.

I suggest using the Ford oem fuel filter - there can be differences in quality for that lowly item.
Research the "Hutch mod" on this website.( Modifying the stock Ford fuel pickup and return line in the tank). The original fuel line which is ok for pressure is under vacuum until it gets to the transfer fuel pump on the frame under your feet. Not a good idea.
Replace the original CPS (cam position sensor)
Not likely, but what is the condition of your ignition switch continuity?
Are you buying fuel at a large volume location? If so, that is good.

Just an update on this problem, I have replaced the cam position sensor with a new one today and drove five minuet’s away and parked up to see my parents, stayed for an hour, got in the truck started up fine drove fifty yards and stalled again, turned the key and started fine and drove home a couple of miles.<o></o>
Unplugged the wiring connector that sits on top of the engine checked for corrosion it was fine. <o></o>
The fuel tank was half way full. <o></o>
Any response’s welcome? <o></o>
