My passenger window on my '99 started sticking in the down position. I got it to go back up a couple of times and figured I'd do a search here and fix it..... tomorrow.... later.... eventually.... someday.
My wife took the truck to deliver our daughter and a bunch of her friends to camp, 2 1/2 hours away. While they were gone I thought that, sure, they all KNOW about the window but one of them WILL put it down and it WILL get stuck.
I came in the house, did my search and found all the info I needed.
When I got back from running a few errands, there sat the truck with the window down. (teenagers; all fingers and no brains!) I popped off the cover, pulled the switch and did the WD-40 clean up. Put it all back together and it works like new.
Of course, I didn't say ANYTHING about fixing it!! Let the girls squirm as long as they will!!
FTE is the best source for anything for our rigs; better than any dealer I've experienced! CedricR.
the window switch contacts will start to corrode then it will not work at all or not get full power to the motor, so putting WD-40 will help clean it up. (remember WD40 is not truly a lubricant, and actually it's a poor lubricant, it's actual purpose is water dispersment for electronics on atlas missles, or I should say it's original purpose)
