Hello everyone!! Everytime I take my truck to the dealer for my back passenger side window in my 04 f150 supercrew rattling when it's all the way up, they don't seem to hear it. That is until I go to pick the truck up when the window rattles for me! As Soon as you put the window down just a little bit, it goes away!!!...but not when it's all the way up. Since the dealer can't fix anything they can't hear as they drive it, is there a way any of you guys in here know how to fix the window?? It only rattles when it's closed! Please help, it's driving me insane!!!
I don't know if this will help or not, but on the Nissan Titan forum there seems to be a similiar problem with rattles when the window is up. They have found that the glass is squeezing or even penetrating thru the rubber channel and rubbing against the metal above the channel. You might get some thin flexible material that you can put between the glass and the channel then roll the window up to see if this stops the rattle. Maybe the dealer can adjust the window so that it doesn't go up as high.
mj,
I thought it only occurred when the window was down, but it may be your regulator cables rattling. On the early models they had to put tape on the to keep them from rattling. Here is the thread where we discussed the tape https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...errerid=203691.
