i did a quick search and ouldnt find what i was looking for but anyway...
on monday i hopped in my truck and fired up to go to work... cranked the heater fan to get the air moving... after the windows were good and i was 1/2 way to work i turned the switch down from "4" down to "2" and didnt hear anything..... i shut the radio off and didnt hear a thing... i flipped between all the numers and all i have is "4" (full blast)
wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they had to do to fix it.....
The resistor pack went out of it. It's a coiled resistor unit that I think on most Fords is beside the fan motor under the hood. All but the highest setting run through the resistors, high is direct to the fan motor. An easy fix if it's where I think it is.

ok cool thanx ill look into that... have to use my book to find it and take a look at her this weekend... glad this happened going into spring lol
Don't hold me to the location. Things have changed since I replaced one. With the newer trucks it could be part of the fan motor or the switch itself. Hope you find it without a lot of hassle.
From my '05 Book...
It also notes that its accessible from the lower RH side of the instrument panel. Iirc, the Speed Control coil is just to the right of this coil.
