If I put a new timing chain set on and set it at o degrees would I feel any power difference in a stock 400 there is no mods on it yet. but I keep hearing about the timing being set off.
Your timing set is probably old and needs replaced anyway. Replacement is required after 80K miles. The worn timing chain is retarding the cam timing some additional amount. It will make a real difference to get the cam timing set properly. Just get an aftermarket timing set that can be installed straight up. ALL of the OEM style sets are retarded regardless of year.
to verify, installing a 0 degree timing set without a cam change will increase power? my timing set broke in my 351M, and I need to replace it, but eventually I'll be doing more mods, but I'd like to just install the timing set for now, so I can move it out of the garage. So is this feasible? Not hijacking the thread just wondering the same thing.
