i agree, al it has to do is raise another 53 cents here and i am aff to the local dealer to trade. This is getting way out of hand, i cant understand how diesel can raise 10 cents overnight and it takes gasoline 2 to 3 days jsut to move 2 cents. All i have to say to Cheveron, Exxon, Shell, Texaco, Maverick, Flying J, and any other rip off station is i hope they choke on their profits and thanks for taking advantage of the american people. It will come back on them 10 fold. I believe in that and i know it will come true.
Well I don't think it's so much a matter of the oil companies taking advantage as it the fact that the whole world runs on diesel now. The demand for diesel has grown almost expotentionally in the last four or five years. Think about it; there is alot more big trucks on the road now; all running on diesel. Trains run on diesel. Farm tractors run on diesel. Jet fuel is a form of diesel. M1 tanks runs on a form of diesel. Armies run on diesel. Ocean going ships run on DFM (diesel fuel marine). Navies run on diesel. Third word countries depend on diesel for their basic transportation. Europe, and India, and China all use diesel for basic transport too.
Combine all that increased demand with the increased fuel taxes the enviromentalists have slapped on diesel and there it is; 50 cents per gallon higher...All this taking things for granted and not increasing supply and infrastucture here in the states for the last 3 decades is coming home to roost....
Fryeburg Maine: 3 stations right next to eachother... C.N. Brown $2.999, Irving $3.099, Mobil $3.099 Just across the NH boarder, Unbranded station $3.059.
Seems we're always damn near the highest priced of all the states. What's funny is Maine's fuel tax is .12c per gallon more than NH and I can buy it at the one C.N.Brown station cheaper than anyplace in NH I've been to recently.
Gonna need a new supply of vasaline if this keeps up!
Their are already plenty of refineries that process heavy crude. Problem is we consume more than we refine. Period, end of story. There is your smoking gun, no gouging, no raping. Supply and demand. What people fail to realize is refined petroleum products along with crude are traded just like stocks and bonds. Turmoil around the world is no different than the way Enron's stock was raised. The EPA regs ensured that this happened. When foreign countries want to build refineries here in the States to maximize profits and get on some easy money, but see the permitting process they bow out quickly. What does that tell you about our Environmental Policy.
just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. in silverdale washington on a navy base it jumped .10 cents over night to 3.19. this keeps up and im going to have to sell my truck
must be in texas or another oil producing state. I live within 20 minutes of a Flying J refinery, and i am being ripped off. Almost frusterated enough to go trade this week. Gas at its highest is 3.15, diesel is at 3.49. Cant figure it out.
im south of atlanta georgia about 50 miles.....prices used to be lower here....if you run to alabama, tennesee or missiipi etc they are usually 10-20 cents cheaper than here
i wonder why the huge difference in price. I have seen diesel go up at least 10 cents each hike when gasoline is only going up at a rate of about 2 to 3 cents per hike. And i think gasoline engines still out number the deisel powered ones by far.
That's unfortunate. We haven't seen the impact in AZ yet (knock wood). I did however fill at flying J in ELoy for 2.749/gal and can't find it cheaper than 3.059 in Tucson or Phx. Usually the difference was less than 15 cents.
