get your old egr valve back, or get a new one, unhook the one thats on the truck and plug up the new one and tie it to something, that way the valve in the truck will stay closed and the check engine light will be off
I cant get it back, i asked ford to see it and they say they toss them out or sometimes send them to the maufacturer. A bunch of BS i think. ANyway, that would be a good idea to try i think, but i dont want to fork out the cash for a new Valve, have to have some money to put into the 29 gallon Cavern of a fuel tank i have. Thanks for the tip.
i bet they didnt even replace it, i always ask for an old part back if i have something done somewhere, most good mechanics keep old parts to show the customer in case they ask
Hey Mike, at that price sounds like you need to slip across the street and snag the neighbors auxillary fuel tank, haul it to Anchorage and buy your fuel there. LOL
I am looking at that right now as I type. Filled my truck up today and was talking to the gas station manager. Only have two gas stations in town. I asked him, just joking of couse when he thought diesel would hit $4.00. He looked at me and said "NEXT MONTH". He then told me that our local fuel company will start to only sell the Low Sulfar Diesal next month and it will start at $4.00 per gallon. CRAP, this thread has gotten me depressed, I need a hug. Opppss back to the subject. I am looking at getting something similar or that same aviation baffle tank, 120 gallons for the back of my truck tomorrow when I am over in Anchorage. Its $541 for that tank. I also need a 12V pump to pump it to tank of my truck. Heck right now diesel is almost $0.60 cheaper in the Anchorage area so I figure I buy 120 for the tank and 38 in my tank, that 155 x $0.60 = $93.00 savings. It will pay for itself in a year or so.... Crazy what fuel is, espically when Big Oil show a 36 billion profit... Sorry not much love going that way....
PS Chris I will be in Willow Sat and Sun and heading back home Mon. Give me a call on my cell.
I'm at work now Mike. I'll try and give you a shout anyway...
Looks like I'm gonna close on the house Monday the 12th. Seriously thinking about quiting my job the 11th. That'll be a nice pay week for me from the house sale. I will be settling up with you on our deal before the end of the month. Keep me posted on the fuel tank too. I might be interested in doing it myself....

i forget which area "superduty?" you have to find .but find tim lamkins tech thread and read up on how to disconect the egr valve and trick the light/pcm it will help you a lot.
as to fuel price here it's neck and neck = to the penny yesterday and the new gas is wreaking haveck with the insides of fuel tanks and filters just like the diesel will be doing to fuel systems.
i hear you man.what i need is a alcie still with all the corn growing around here it's not a big problem getting that and some good jack now and then.
but times are getting very tough. my big 48 foot boat is gone,my 36 single engine one is gone, my 25 with it's 1.7L 120 hp cummins smoker is going this week to it's new owner. my 18 foot runabout is up to go and i think my super duty also.
i heat with propane and a barbe tank costs 20 bucks to fill this week. wonder what filling my 500 gal tank will cost.
for me on a retirement income it's mortgage, heat, food and meds first.
Gosh I wish Bio-Diesel was feasible here but its not. Maybe in Anchorage or Fairbanks.
Well I got a 133 gallon baffle aviation tank for the back of my truck. Filled it up, the truck and 25 gallons of gas for the lawn mover ect. Nice $500 dollar bill. Guess the people at the gas station got a kick. Everyone in line was prepaying $20 or $30. I walked in and gave her $600, went to the pump, placed nozzle in tank, folded out the lawn chair and comenced to wait and watch others pump fuel (very slow pump). I figure it will take a year for the saving in fuel to pay for the tank but now I have a pretty far range before I have to fuel up again. Fuel is $0.65 cheaper in Anchorage and when the Low Sulfar fuel kicks in the saving will be greater. PS Not sure how true this is but I have been told that #1 and Low sulfur are the same fuel??? Like I said dont know the validity of that rumor.
Only saving grace for us is our Dividends. Look like we will have to save it for fuel this year since we also heat our home with Diesel.
Way to go Mike. Glad to see your saving fuel costs. Where did you get your tank at? How much was it?? Did it include the pump and hardware? I'm gonna need one myself here soon.
