i checked mine by making up a hose long enough that attached to the 1/8 inch npt port in the head attached a 0-100 psi gauge to the other and duck taped the gauge to my windshield ( in an area that i could see while i was driving and did not obstruct my view) then went out to the biggest hill i could find and put the petal to the floorboard. probally not the sefest way to check the pressure, but it worked for me. the hose that i used was small enough that the weather stripping flexed enough that i could close the hood

There's your pre pump pump for pushing fuel thru
i nice MG inline fuel filter.
Nut
I took a different approach - I moved the pump back to the top of the fuel tank with plans to run the fuel level down and relocate the pump to the inside of the tank at the end of the pickup. I'll jam the pickup screen over the inlet of the pump and attach it to the bottom end of the pipe pipe feeding out. It should be a cinch of a mod. For now it works a lot better than the stock location, but I still get those little mad bee sounds first thing in the morning if it's below freezing and I have B-50 in the tank. Relocating the pump to the rear of the truck cut the buzzing in half, but not eliminating as I had hoped. So it's going inside the tank.
I'll post pictures when it get's done. Not for a while, I have too many other things I need to get done first, so this one is many months away if not a couple of years.
ps nut, my truck is fixed, my problem was my fuel pump it was bad. i was replying to kwick's question of what my readings were when i found my problem, sorry for any confusion i might have caused. i filled out my signature, hopefully it works
