That's a GREAT idea. I am going to do that myself.
Expect to replace your fuel filter a lot more, however.

Thanks kwik! Do you say that about the fiter because all the dirt will be trapped in the filter instead of some being recycled back to the tank?

If your talking about the setup i have for the stacks yes it does. You could put your finger over the hose and feel a slight draw. It would always blow oil vapours out the one stack. I have changed my setup. I now have a canister on the frame to catch the vapour and it is now hooked back up to the intake. The oil would slowly start to run down the stack and that is why i changed it. I also got sick of the oil smell coming in the cab when you came to a stop with the windows down. I like the setup i have now better. Hope this helps. Have a good one Lancer

Ford's design is like this: The fuel pump supplies fuel to the filter canister in a continuous loop with the excess fuel being returned to the tank via the pressure regulator PRE filter.
Whatever get's sent to the injectors takes a different route through the filter and out to the injectors. That is a much smaller volume of fuel overall. Now if you move the fuel pressure regulator to some point POST filter then all the fuel that the pump moves must pass through the filter. You are in essence now filtering the entire tank of fuel instead of just what goes to the injectors. Not that it is a bad thing gasser engines do that all the time. It's great way of keeping the tank clean but hard on filter life.
