What is the best way to rig up a kill switch?
Where have you mounted your actual switch?
What is the best type of switch? Just a regular stainless toggle switch?
What is the moniker for the switch I want? SPST? DPDT? etc.
I've been told that you have to splice the orange wire on the starter relay that goes to the distributer.
Any more to add?
I have an electric fuel pump on mine and I am going to put a toggle switch on that and if some one tries to take it, it will only run until the float bowl is empty. Where to mount the switch you can mount it anywhere like make a bracket and mount it under the seat or any place that you can think of where no one will look. Eric
Where to put the switch is up to you - I put mine under the hood on the back fire wall in a small black box that flips up. The hinge is on the inside so it looks like just another piece of electical equipment.
Used a high amp (very heavy duty) on/off so I did not have to worry about it being over loaded and ran ignition power through it.
Crank all you want - without the switch on you get no spark.
The MSD ignitions have a method also.
I recommend putting the switch inline with the 12v going to the coil. But the orange wire will work to.. the only thing is you should 'dress' the wire going to the switch so it looks like it Belongs....
