I am taking a 460 out of my 1977 f150 and replacing it with a 300ci six cylinder, but I am having trouble with the tower motor mounts the ones for the 460 won't fit the 300 and I can't find 300 tower motor mounts anywhere. Can anyone tell me where I can find them or if you have them could you ship them to me for a price? I really need to get this truck finished soon, please help!
LAST EDITED ON 20-Apr-01 AT 06:19 PM (EST)[p]For all of the posts that I have seen by someone removing a 300 or 240 I6 for a 460, this has to be a record of some sort. I cannot remember someone wanting to get rid of that boat anchor 460 for a I6.
I'm gonna come back before I go to bed and see if this post is still here and as I thought I read it. Maybe I'll go see if there is any Jim Beam in the house, I think I need a drink.

Hey I had a 6-cylinder in my '77 F-150 and it was a gas hog with no power to show for it. I got tired of it so I swapped it out for a 351W no one had mounts for this motor swap so I made my own. The mounting location on the 460 is way different than the 300. I have more power with the 351W and get better mileage as well. I know people who say they 18-20+ mpg from the 300. but I've had 3 of them and never got more than about 11-12mpg out of it. Check out F-100 as well for your mounts
Hey Nathan, Where was this yard with all of the 6s, I have called about 20 different yards in my area and nobody has got it. Could you give me the location and phone number of the place possibly?
Thanks,
