i will let you knon what i get for it.. its new from edge (been replaced) and i got it for 300 and seen them going for close to 400 in some place's so well see what happens
ok, I disconnected the batteries for about 5 mins and the gauge did there test thing when I started it up, so I know I was as rest set as its going to be.. still no data stream.
Well let me tell you what little I know. I run an Edge/Attitude combo and an SCT with trans mods (from Motorhaven). I also run a Suncoast Extreme Duty rebuild kit with their triple clutch converter (blew up stock tranny at 34000 with same symptoms stock failures were having but no help from Ford). Anyway, with my Edge hooked up and the SCT stacked, I cant pass 100 even though the speed limiter was supposed to be removed. If I take the Edge out of the loop (remove it) it will pass 100 on setting 3 of the SCT, however the SCT doesnt pull anywhere near as hard as the Edge. I keep meaning to try setting 1 without the Edge hooked up to see if the speed limiter is removed. I also think Edge products run extremely high EGT's in relation to other tuners. I also am under the assumption the programmer/tuner of the SCT makes all the difference in the world. I always run the EDGE on level 5, even in the rain!
1) trans only
2) tow mode (60hp)
3) extreme (100hp)
It runs like crap on toe mode / no power , spits and sputters BAD
it runs great on extreme , burn rubber, slid sideways, it almost pull the paint off the truck, and that is why i did not want to leave it in that mode.. it will break something, i can just tell., but i can run over 100mph in that mode, no problem... dont know were it will stop just keeps going. and as far as EGT.. it so far has not went over what stock was reading.. maybe 100 deg over at most, but i have not towed anything in that mode, because it says not too.
anyway i just going to ebay it so i dont break truck. dont know why it wont run good in tow mode that really bothers me.!!!
ok, i disconnected the EGR thanking it would not work, but what the heck is todo... well it just about fixed it.. i would say that in tow mode its is 80-90% better, So were onto something.. runs way better with the EGR unpluged.
thanks of adding a coldair intake and cat back to see if it finish's the job.
(kinda wanted one anyway)
sounds like an egr/ebp combo. get rid of the fuel module and have it checked at the dealer. When you get it back do your motor a favor and unplug the egr.
I spoke with you a couple months ago about the Superchips Microtuner. I offered to meet you in eloy, az, remember?????????

yes i remember and kinda wish i would have taken you up on that.
anyway what is a EBP, and i will do that.sound like a plan, if only i knew what the plan was...(hahah) ok thanks for your help
also what do i tell the dealer i wanted checked for.. meaning in stock mode it runs fine, so how will i go about say i think this needs to be checked?
ok will do...also would this throw a code ? cuz i am not getting any, but have had those problems before (not the smoke) but loss of power before.
anyway thanks
unplugging it should throw at least 2 codes so reset them before you go. The aforementioned problem may or maynot through a code it could be a problem with the fuel module. After all you are forcing a lot more fuel into the motor and the corresponding soot is being recirculated via the EGR.
Look at the tailpipe with the edge on extreme and the EGR unplugged, it should blast black smoke.
yes , it does blast black smoke, I think maybe worse on tow mode., still cuts out a little on take off, over not as bad as before. should I disconnect the EBP sensor too ? or do I need that one ?
once in a while my transmission does not shift into rev, so I need to take to dealer anyway, while I there I have them check other stuff / EGR,EBP,fuel Modula ,etc
kinda **** me off last time I was there I told them I had a remain leak.. and they told me know they die checked and it was my oil filter and that they fixed it, well a few weeks later I am under truck and guess what still oil on bell housing.
I have a cat delete pipe on right know and am think of putting it back on before I go. was going to tell them I have it on because I thought my cat was bad.. due to loss of power, see what they think ?
anyway thanks for the input .
chad
I would remove the edge fuel module and plug m=back in the egr when you go for service. Have them check the egr and ebp. I don't think you can disconnect the ebp. Just disconnect the egr when they are done with their service.
ya, i went back to stock tune, plugged EGR back in and unplug truck batts to reset computer record. replaced cat, etc
let you know what the dealer say's about EBP sensor/EGR and oil leak, etc
