hello, i have a 03 PSD 6L
i only have a cat delete pipe/ gauges
i have programmed with the edge evolution , and when i power down hard 3/4 to full pedal. sometime over half..anyway it cuts in and out bad .. kinda like its running out of fuel.. i changed filter (fuel) and still doing it. if i am on hwy at high speed it does not do it intill it kicks down then it does it.. also when i am at dead stop and push down 1/2 pedal it also does it.
like its missing (if i had a gas engine i would say bad plug wires,etc)
so any idea whats wrong ?

Did you change both fuel filters?

 

yes. i did. did not help . still sputers, but only with tunner

 

I have the same problem Cody at edge tells me they have never had this problem I tried another one ...same thing....let me know if you figure it out....I havent been alble to get any help from edge...its been 4 months now...the last edge product I will EVER buy

 

does it do it with a diffent tunner, or is it something on truck ?\

what year is your truck mine is 03
i have emailed edge see what they say and i will ask for cody to see if he tells me that and i will let him know that he is wrong
wish i knew some one is phx , AZ area that would let me test a tunner from there tunner out to see what happens

 

Its the tuner....mine is a 03 also....runs great on extream...like crap on the towing setting ....did the same thing with 2 different tuners....have you tried the extream setting??.....mine seemed to run ok at first then gets worse the longer it is run on the tow setting

 

does all of your data stream work, my rpm does not show , but it use to.. so that weird, it does on both but will check it again tonight

ok, update on tunner, it does run fine (kick as burning rubber) on extreme mode.
(100hp) but on tow mode (60hp) it runs like crap. so it cant be running out of fuel then or it would not run good on extreme. so this is weird

 

Yep same as mine....that makes me belive that it has to in the programing of the tuner and not the truck, I dont know for sure just my thought???? yes it did the same exact thing with 2 different tuners

 

ok, the other tuners . list them so other people and i with 03 PSD stay away from them.
i kinda think its the truck, meaning not the truck like just my truck, but if tuners do this maybe its the program / computers on the 03 that have a problem.
also the other tuners.. did it do it in all the modes ? or low mode like the edge did ?
another thing is that the data stream worked before the other tuner took a crap. so if this tuner is not seeing thdata stream did the other tuner break something on my computer? it should work, is your data stream working ? or could it be the my truck has the lastest ford flash and its blocking it ? i did take my truck in about a month ago for work. worked before that. i dont want to leave my truck in extreme mode..( affraid of blowing head gasket)
i think i will ebay it.
its a sham i cant use the 60hp setting my boost is getting up to 35lb on extreme mode and stock its around 25-28
i dont have a boost gauge using the data stream on egde unit(boost works and oil temp thats all) i was think of return to stock tune and unpluging truck batts for 10 mins to see if it reset the computer on truck then retune
what do you think ?
do i have to unplug both batts for this ?

No I havent tried unhooking the batterys to reset....good idea let me know if it does anything....Ebay the tuner would be my best advise mine lays in my back seat doing nothing ,like you I dont want to run it on extream setting for fear of tearing things up...what I wanted mainly was improved MPG....I have herd that the SCT work well but I havent done much checking on them....if I get another I will do more reasearch than I did on the eveloution, I had figured that edge was a good company with a good product but I think they are missing something here...one thought I had was my build date on my truck is 06-03 one of the last for 03 I think they were making some of the changes then that they did in 04, maybe the truck is programed as a 04, but I downloaded my trucks info onto the tuner and sent it to edge so they could figure it out but they couldnt

 

yes i will do the batt thing tomarrow , let you know. you did not sayif you had any problem with the data stream ?
i have listed my tunner on ebay for 300$ , good buy if you have a 04 or up i dont know that its a good idea for a 03 ..
has any one else with 03 had any isssue's with running tuners ?

I never paid a lot of attention to the data stream so I am not sure....I was so dissapointed to how it ran I just kinga gave up on it.....I will sell mine too if any one wants one

 

well wait a week( so were not hurt each other on price) and put it on ebay
its tax time and i would think there are some people with there tax money looking to spend it.
