Hi, I have a 2004 F150 Supercrew Fx4 and i don't like the painted bnumpers, they chip to easy, and i pulled a guy out of the ditch and i got a ding in the front bumper, so now i was thinking about having them line X'ed. Has anyone does this, and does it look good, what about cost? Thanks for any help.
I have seen rocker panels with Line-X on them. I like the look of it. I'm not sure i'd do the bumpers too - maybe if the line-x were painted. Do a search on Google for line-x rocker. One of the first links has several pix.
Not sure how Line X would look on a bumper but then again who really cares if you like the look. I just paid $425.00 + tax to have my 5.5' bed sprayed. I am sure your local Line X dealer would give you a reasonable quote over the phone.
Some LINE-X dealers (including myself) can spray an exact color match, or if you prefer, get black with Nason for no fading. Dealer prices will vary, but you're looking at $140 to $180 for the job.
Be sure the dealer uses Nason or Xtra for no fading!
This F350 has been completely LINE-X'd, including the entire body, Ranch Hand bumpers, nerf bars, and wheel wells. We used Nason so it will not fade.
EDIT: You should know that we can vary the texture if you don't want the rough look. Here's a pic of a Chevy (SORRY!) for which we sprayed the grill and black bumper portions with black LINE-X and Nason with very little texture.

First, you need to call your local LINE-X dealers and ask if they spray color matched LINE-X with Dupont Nason paint. Some do, some don't.
If they do, you can get any color you want. They can even send you to the paint store to pic out the color. BUT, the colored LINE-X will not reflect light like your truck. Your truck has a base coat, a coat on top of that, and then a clear coat.
This is a good pic of what I mean. The color is the same, but the liner does not reflect light the same.
That is cool! I knew there were color options, but I had no idea Line X could match a factory color so well. I had a black liner sprayed in my truck and it looks good against the factory Darkstone paint. I am pretty imune to advertising myself, but Line X could get some good mileage by running some TV advertising on behalf of their franchise owners. Great product.
