Alright, for the past couple of weeks it has been doing this. My power steering pump is sprayin all of the fluid out the fill spout and the plug is in there tight. It usually assist in steering well but sometimes it acts like it not working or something, it just real hard. I am not sure if the lines are plogged up or what but I would like your alls input before I go pulling it all apart. BTW it cannot be too full of fluid, it does it even when its low. Thanks
When they assemble PS units at the factory they are clean parts and they flush and fill them with filtered fluid. Unfortunately we check the fluid levels and introduce abrasive particles into the fluid. They also leak so we add more dirty fluid and get more grime into the pump. This destroys the pump and other components. Any time a repair is made or a component replaced the system must be flushed and a filter installed. People do not do that which is the source of most of the "noisy Ford pump" complaints. The Ford pump IS more susceptible to damage from dirty fluid than the Saginaw pump found on some models tho.
well before i got your replys I went ahead and pulled it all apart and I have a pump out of a 78, Its a newer version than the old one but I am going to clen it up and go down to napa tomorrow to see if I can get a hose that will work for me. As far as the filter, I am guessing I will spplice it into the rubber part but what kind of filter? I am going to clean the lines up the best I can but when it all goes back together do I need to bleed the air somehow? If so, how? Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help.

Reason: mispelled
Remove the return Power Steering (PS) line at the PS pump. Have the fluid from pump drain out into a drain pan. Plug the return pipe or run a long hose from the pipe up near the valve cover where the hose is above the PS pump. Then refill the PS pump with PS fluid, and have the return hose pointed and empty the old PS fluid into drain pan. Have at least 3 quarts of PS fluid nearby. With PS cap removed, start the engine and keep refilling the PS pump with PS fluid, the old PS fluid will drain out and the New PS fluid will circulate into the PS unit. Never let the PS pump run out of PS fluid or you will then need to bleed out the PS system. Turn off engine before the PS Pump runs out of PS fluid. Reconnect the PS return line onto the PS pump. refill PS pump to the correct PS level.
