IHC Blue CPS junk?
An improper installed CPS will make you lose 2-3 MPG or more and could cause the Num. 3 and Num. 8 Cylinders to mis-fire.
I wrote that the T466 CPS comes with 2 shims, it comes with 4 shims and when you stack them together it is about 1/16" using all four together.
So the adjustment tolerance on these is very tight.
I am going to run the Van using the new Blue International CPS with no shims, then write down the fuel Mileage, then I will add a single shim and test that method for a tankful, then add 2 shims and so on until I add all four shims., then I will see how the Van runs with the different shims in them.
You either need to buy a CPS for the T466 (100.00) to get the four shims, or you can ask a tech at International to save them for you as they throw them away all the time.
It may take me a couple months for my findings, but I will take my time and do it right.
When the Van runs like a top I may stop at that many shims, say after 2 shims and live with it. Or I may go to the 3rd. shim and see ho9w that works.
Either way, I will learn more about my RIG.
I have a AIC/ACPM so I can monitor my RPM's after each setting. I will also check EGT's and Boost numbers on each setting.
best to you all,
Russ

was wondering how the shim test went. did you go to 4 or just 2 and what was mileage difference.
i was thinking since this was now 4 plus years old the data should me in..
