It is not true, no resistor required.

So the relay can be completely removed, no additional parts are needed to replace anything, and a contribution test can still be ran with no issues?

Not true! I've been troubleshooting a poor idle for a year now and only recently found out that my AIH delete had been making me think my CCT's were passing. Come to find out the code caused by the AIH delete stops the CCT from completing. I hooked mine back up and sure enough, I found my bad injector. It only takes a couple of minutes to reinstall the AIH, so I just put some heat shrink over the wires when it's removed, and if I need to run another CCT, I just reinstall it.

I did an AIH delete and installed the ground wire from riffraff to eliminate the code. I saw pictures and see here people have mentioned the blue wire. I do not have that wire at all.

Can anyone please tell me where it leads to so I can try to figure something out? I know it doesn't affect the truck but if I can square it away I will. Can't find any diagrams on it.

Removes a decent restriction out center of the intake spider right before air enters the engine.

one thing I found silly as I dig into the Cummins world, is that the bank's power elbow for those engines "upgrade" to something that looks exactly like what we delete...for less restriction.

I think the restriction aspect is overstated. But the delete does make a nice place to install a boost sensor.

Doesn't this Banks part also solve the grid heater failure issue? I may be misremembering the benefits of the elbow though.

They would just delete it but they need it to start. It's less restrictive then the stock grid heater. Cummins don't have glow plugs.

Yes, it is a grid heater alternative. It was seeing it and how closely it resembles the thing I tossed for a riffraff boost adapter just struck me as funny. Still just scratching the surface of what goes on behind the 5.9 curtain.

I did the AIH delete some years ago using the port for boost gauge.. I just took the power wire off solenoid when i removed the AIH coil.. I dont get CEL but have only use torque to see codes..

On the banks elbows the size of the tubing where they put the AIH is quite a bit larger than the ford tubing at the intake spyder. While it may crease some resistance it must be well lower than ford restriction.. since i have not measured the air flow on either this is all a GFG.. good *****in guess.
