10-4. I was hoping once you turned the diff, the tcase angle wouldn't be that bad. I would say run limit straps after you clearance the yoke just to be sure. Or a piece of chain works too. Deist safety has limit straps for less than $30. But yeah, Jess can hook you up fo sho! But it ain't cheap. If I had ANY high clearance cv's I'd send ya one. But those don't end up in my shaft pile too often.
Well no problems in particular Duck. Here's the deal: My pinion angle is 0º up front. The angle at the t-case is about 27º which is where the issue is. That CV is maxed out and if my driver's side tire drops at all there's binding in it. So my plan was to have High Angle build me a new shaft that could handle 27º no trouble. Jesse can do it, but it'll cost me better than $700. Eventually I'll do it but I can't afford it right now. My plan was to get the ol' grinder out and clearance the yokes a bit so I could run this shaft for now but I didn't get time before the bog. Surprisingly though, the shaft held up fine. When I head back down there at the end of the month I'll clearance the yokes and run that for the rest of the year or until I blow it up. Then I'm buying one from Jesse.
my front shaft has pretty much clearanced itself at the yoke...it used to bind with a little droop at the cv, but now it doesnt bind at all....i have one of jess's 1350 cv shafts to throw in it, im just saving for the 1350 yoke and the cv flange
Normally Jesse's stuff isn't so stupid expensive but apparently the trouble with my setup is that the married 205 with the C6 tranny has special clearance issues. The normal heavy duty CV that he would use won't clear the tranny which means he has to build some pretty fancy stuff to still be short enough to clear the tranny and yet handle the angle and power. If I'd have known all this a long time back I would have went to a divorced t-case from the beginning. This would have saved me from the knuckle turning job and all this mess with the front shaft, plus it would make pulling the tranny a lot easier. But you learn as you go I guess. I had never anticipated the truck becoming such a giant mud *****. It was supposed to be a mall crawler I tell you!!!!!
haha..i dont know if i got a good deal on mine or not, i picked it up for 200 bucks, and on the pinion end it has a brand new tom woods super joint thing installed...the joint with the funky trunion to give extra angle....it only has mild trail miles on it
Yeah but it would have been a great excuse to break out hte credit cards and start building a REAL engine.
