I used a 22* piece of 4" exhaust pipe from a muffler shop for $25. I had to cut off the bell and some on the other end to get the right lenght an angle. I used some 4" PVC to make a prototype for the angle.

Where did you get the couplers?

The rubber connector I used came from my AEM Brute force intake system with a KN type cone filter that I did not care for. So that is a $200 connector and my homemade tymar system is worth about $260. Oh well, live and learn. I am sure you can get one for less than I paid but I am sorry, I don't know where you would get it.

Stroker gave me one place, but I like to shop around to see what else I can find. I may just get it from that place, only to find a cheaper place a couple of days after mine would arrive. Like you said, live and learn.

Kilapapipa: Awesome setup - it looks really nice. I ordered the filter from Napa this morning. Can you give me exact specs on the pipe you used? You said 22 degree bend on a 4" diameter pipe. What about overall length? Just simple straight ends, or flanged on either side? Is there enough room to fit the factory filter minder on the end? Did you use any flex tube (looks like it in the photo, but I couldn't tell)?

Thanks!

The flex pipe you see is still factory tubing. The ends are straight, however, I had to cut from both ends to make it work. Once you get the pipe you can over lay it and make the cuts. I did not use the filter minder but you could put it in the pipe with a gromet. Same for the sensor that I just wire strapped to the brake lines.

Here are some more pics.

DON'T PUT THE FILTERMINDER IN THE PIPE! The air rushing by creates a venturi effect that gives an unrealistically-high vacuum that fools the FilterMinder into reading completely wrong!

Good point, I hadn't thought of that, I did not want to use it at all so I was not worried about it. I don't think there is room in the end of the filter to put it in.

I didn't even know there was a sensor to worry about - what has everyone else done with the sensor?

Air Temperature Sensor. Mine's under the filter, zip tied to something. I just can't remember what it's tied to, it's been something like a year since I put that filter on. New one should be here soon.

I zip tied mine underneath the filter towards the front, close to the factory intake that comes in past the battery. I'm not sure what it controls, but figured it is supposed to measure the incoming air.
