I am going to have installed an alarm with remote start function. Do a lot of places that install alarms know about the tach converter? or is it just something on the 6.0?

I just bought a canopy, so my mad money is spent for now. But I'm looking out the office window looking at the rain flowing sideways! I WANT REMOTE START!

Wife might not agree that I "need" remote start.I'll have to put on my salesman hat.

I did talk to Ford about this some time ago. They won't install remote start on a ZF6 equipped truck. But a local aftermarket guy will, with one caviat. There's a step to complete when exiting the truck, to arm it. That way the driver puts the transmission in neutral, and there's an override for the clutch pedal switch.

On standard transmissions you need the E-Brake set and the trans in neutral, it over rides the clutch pedal signal from what I understand with most applications.

My AstroStart has a programmable wait time for glow plugs. I think mine is set for 45 seconds.

The powercode waits 30 seconds before starting the diesel.

Yep, my Astrostart has a delay, I'm thinking more like 15-20 seconds????

If I remember next time I hit the button, I'll count.

its a 6.0 thing the tach converter, the dealer even looked at me funny till he looked it up and said wow, that would have saved me alot of trouble.the signal isnt ac until you use it.

Thanks for the answer t my start and stalls. just ordered it was driving me crazy for days..
