Need help.Before dropping the c-6 in my 79 f150,I drained the torque converter.Now its time to put it back in and of course I didnt pay attention to how much fluid drained out.I need to know the capacity.I cant find this info in any manuels.Thanks.

usually you can try to put about a quart in it,but when you go to put it on the trans be quick cause it will try to pour out.If you can't don't sweat it because the fluid is circulated through the trans and the tc and will fill on it's own once you start your truck(and the pump starts circulating fluid through your trans.Make sure to fill your trans with fluid(you should be able to get the # of quarts from your manual),start the truck,cycle through the positions(p-r-n-d-2-1)and back to park, then check the fluid level w/ the truck running and add as necessary(cycle through positions each time and be careful not to overfill as this can cause foaming and seal damage).good luck and tell me how it goes. Also,I have a 1979 f150 4wd I'm putting a 429 in.Anyone got a recommendation on a torque converter/ rebuild kit for my c-6?
