I would have to agree with n578md....however stop lights should be timed with the speed limit. If I am going the speed limit I should be able to stop safelty without having to ream on my brakes because the yellow is too short. The yellow light was not created for poeple to run reds but provide adaquate time for those close to the light to go through it so they would not have to endanger the lives of the people traveling behind them or the other people waiting to get through the intersection.

If the yellow light is timed with speed limit I fully support traffic cameras. If you follow the law you have nothing to worry about and the added bonus of making it home safely. Those that have difficulty not running reds will just have to pay with their pocket books. One of the problem that arises is when a private company enforces the law. This should only be done by cops/law enforcement. No private company should gain from someone breaking the law. That is not why fines where created in the first place. If fines and traffic stop people from breaking the law and add to safety I am all for that. just my 2 cents
